6 TIPS FOR GOOD STUDY AT THE BEGINNING OF THE SESSION

The vacation is over!  You're back in school and you have to start your revision for your mid-term exams.  You may think that I'm exaggerating and that exams are only a few weeks away, but starting your study early in your session will save you a lot of time the week before the exam and more  improve your final result!  Here are 6 tips you can apply today to study as a chef.

  1- ESTABLISH ITS PRIORITIES

As explained in the Guide to Successful Sport-Studies, you must plan your school path exactly as you plan your sporting career!  Use a diary, or if you're the type to leave it in the back of your bag, set up a schedule in your room with your weekly review plan, your workouts and your hobbies, depending on what's most important to you  .  Take the time to plan periods of study from the beginning of the session, it will facilitate your understanding for the courses that will follow and save you a lot of review time before the exam.

2- CHOOSE A PLACE OF STUDIES

The best place to study is not necessarily the most comfortable!  It is important to choose a place that is conducive to concentration, pleasant and stimulating.  In addition, limit distractions to the maximum by leaving your cell phone in another room, Instagram can wait;).  If you want to listen to music while studying, it is advisable to listen to music without words, otherwise your brain tries to decode the lyrics and the written text at the same time, and you will be less effective.

3- CHOOSE THE BEST TIME OF THE DAY

For each person, it can be different.  In general, when you wake up, the brain is cool and receives better information.  At the end of the day, after your classes and your training, your body is tired and it is more difficult to assimilate the material.

  4- REVISE IN GROUP

Be careful, editing in groups can be motivating, however, it is easy to move away from the main objective and lose productivity.  If a group review is beneficial for you, it is advisable to plan short meetings by targeting a specific goal in order to capture some of the details of the course that were misunderstood.

  5- TAKE BREAKS

Breaks are necessary to stay productive and motivated during a review period.  After an hour of study, it is recommended to take a break of 15 minutes.  A too long break will demotivate you to return to the study (an episode of Game of Thrones = too long break;)) take advantage of it to go for a walk outside, take a healthy snack or do some stretching in connection with  your sport.  In addition, do not neglect his sleep, a good night's sleep of 8 hours is favorable for good concentration.

  6- REWARDS

Finally, reward yourself when you have achieved your goals!  As mentioned on the website Allo Prof: »Identify what is consuming your time (television, computer, etc.).  What you like the most during your free time, do not do it before studying.  Instead, use these activities as a reward for the effort.  So, you'll make sure you do not miss the point.  If you reach your measurable goal, for example, get a grade greater than 80% on your exam, offer yourself this reward!
